Philosophy

At Ivy Tree Preschool, we believe that we can bring out the best in each child by providing a warm and supportive atmosphere and an environment well prepared for our young learners to independently make decisions and choose materials as they explore, play, practice, and create. We believe in process over product and the value of trying, failing, and trying again!  We strive to develop critical thinking skills, flexibility, problem-solving skills, and resilience; core attributes for successful whole child development.

Ivy Tree Preschool draws from a variety of educational techniques in order to meet the needs of each unique child as they navigate their current developmental stage.  Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows for individualized attention and guidance in a learning environment with the heart of a family.

Health & Safety

Your child’s health and safety are our priority. Ivy Tree Preschool is following the current Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), and the CT Office of Early Childhood (OEC) guidelines to minimize the risk of COVID-19.  These practices will evolve as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. Currently, all staff members, as well as, children over three years old wear masks. High touch points are sanitized throughout the day. Hand washing is practiced frequently. Outdoor time is maximized and extra space is provided between children during lunch and snacks.
